Huddersfield Town vs Birmingham - Huddersfield have no fresh concerns

Posted Friday, April 22, 2016 by PA

Huddersfield head coach David Wagner has no new injury or suspension problems and is expected to select from an unchanged squad against Birmingham.

Forward Jamie Paterson shook off a hamstring injury in time to step off the bench in the midweek draw at Rotherham, leaving just goalkeeper Joe Murphy (shoulder) and midfielder Jonathan Hogg (knee) on the sidelines.

Hogg is closing in on a return after missing the last nine matches but Saturday could come too soon for him, while Wagner could make changes.

Emyr Huws, who made way for Philip Billing in midweek, is pushing for a recall while new signing Michael Hefele officially becomes a Town player on July 1 after his Dynamo Dresden contract has expired..

Jon Toral will miss the rest of the season for Birmingham after suffering a hamstring injury.

The Arsenal loanee is out of Saturday's trip to Huddersfield and the Blues do not expect him to feature again this term after he pulled up in training.

They are still waiting for the results of a scan on Maikel Kieftenbeld's facial injury with boss Gary Rowett hopeful the midfielder has not fractured his eye socket.

Defender Neal Eardley is also out for the season with a serious knee injury while James Vaughan is not eligible to face his parent club.
