Luton Town vs Newport County - Paddy McCourt missing for Luton against Newport

Posted Friday, April 22, 2016 by PA

Luton manager Nathan Jones will be without Paddy McCourt as his side welcome Newport in the Sky Bet League Two on Saturday.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference Jones told reporters he was allowing the midfielder time off to "recover from injury and take time for personal issues".

Captain Scott Cuthbert will face a late fitness test after he missed their 2-1 win over Carlisle due to a muscle problem.

Luton are looking to win their fourth game in a row in the league.

Yan Klukowski is one of a number of doubts for the Exiles ahead of the trip to Bedfordshire.

The midfielder was substituted in the first half of the 1-1 draw with Oxford on Tuesday due to a knee problem.

Defender Janoi Donacien (illness) and forwards Alex Rodman (groin) and John-Christophe Ayina (knee) also face late fitness tests, while midfielder Medy Elito is expected to keep his place in the starting line-up after scoring his first goal of the season following the offer of a B#100 bonus from manager Warren Feeney.

The Welsh side, in 22nd place, are almost safe from relegation but need one more point - or York to drop points - to confirm their League Two status.
