Accrington Stanley vs York City - Accrington to keep faith as York teeter on edge

Posted Friday, April 22, 2016 by PA

Accrington are unlikely to make significant changes at home to lowly York, as they try to close out their automatic promotion challenge.

Midfielder Scott Brown continues his recovery from a hamstring injury but is not expected to be ready in time for Saturday.

Defender Joe Wright is on the comeback trail as well, after his spell on the sidelines, while in midfield Matt Crooks still has ankle trouble.

York, who surprised Portsmouth last time out, need to win to maintain hopes of staying in the Football League.

Defender Dave Winfield is available to help the cause having served a one-match ban but saw Kyle Cameron and Scot Bennett impress at the back in his absence.

Josh Carson also had an impressive outing against Pompey in an unfamiliar left-back position and may have done enough to continue in the role.

Michael Coulson and Jake Hyde have been missing in recent weeks but are continuing to be monitored.
