Palermo 2 - 2 Atalanta: Serie A strugglers Palermo force a point against Atalanta
Posted Thursday, April 21, 2016 by PA
Aljaz Struna secured a crucial point for relegation-threatened Palermo by forcing a 2-2 draw with Atalanta at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.
Franco Vazquez's penalty boosted the Sicilians in the first minute but Atalanta were level when Marco Borriello converted a spot-kick 10 minutes later.
After the break Gabriel Paletta turned the game on its head with a headed goal, leaving Slovenian right-back Struna to salvage a share of the spoils with a scruffy finish in the 76th minute.
Palermo, who held out despite losing Roberto Vitiello to a late red card, are two points behind 17th-placed Carpi with four games remaining.
