US Sassuolo Calcio 0 - 0 Sampdoria: Emiliano Viviano heroics for Sampdoria deny Sassuolo

Goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano almost single-handedly earned 10-man Sampdoria their point from a one-sided goalless draw at Sassuolo's Mapei Stadium.

Europa League-chasing Sassuolo dominated throughout, taking control of proceedings after Samp defender Andrea Ranocchia was dismissed for a second yell`ow card in the 27th minute.

But neither Sime Vrsaljko nor Federico Peluso could get the ball over the line in the first half, and Sassuolo's frustration continued after the break.

Marcello Trotta, Luis Muriel and Nicola Sansone were all thwarted from close range by the perceptive Viviano and the former Arsenal loanee even saved a Domenico Berardi penalty at the death.
