Nantes 0 - 2 Montpellier: Montpellier ease relegation worries with victory at Nantes

Posted Sunday, April 17, 2016 by PA

Montpellier secured their first victory in six to move six points clear of Ligue 1's bottom three with a 2-0 win in Nantes.

La Pallaide were looking for an upturn in form and they got just that when, with less than 25 minutes played, Ninga's delivery fell to Bryan Dabo, who finished despite Maxime Dupe's best efforts.

And the points were all but wrapped midway through the second half thanks to Ellyes Skhiri's second goal of the season - the youngster looping in a fine first-time effort after Dupe punched a delivery his way.

A fourth successive league defeat for Nantes all but put an end to any slim hopes of qualifying for the Europa League.
