Bastia 0 - 1 Saint-Etienne: St Etienne move two points behind second-placed Lyon with win in Bastia

St Etienne moved two points behind second-placed Lyon thanks to Nolan Roux's solitary goal in a 1-0 win in Bastia.
In a largely uneventful encounter, Les Verts looked like they were going to have to settle for a point until Sebastien Squillaci failed to make contact with Kevin Theophile-Catherine's delivery on 75 minutes and Roux was on hand to finish at the back post.
The visitors went close to scoring earlier in the game, just before the interval, but defender Loic Perrin's goal-bound volley was blocked by Mehdi Mostefa.
Defeat for Bastia means that they are still not mathematically safe, leaving the Corsicans needing at least a win in their final four games to ensure Ligue 1 football next season.
