Stenhousemuir 0 - 4 Ayr Utd.: Ayr ease to victory at Stenhousemuir

Ayr consolidated their Ladbrokes Scottish League One promotion play-off spot with a 4-0 win over strugglers Stenhousemuir at Ochilview Park.

Michael Donald put the visitors in front before Ayr's Young Player of the Year Craig Moore and a brace from Jordan Preston sealed the win as Ian McCall's side ended a run of two straight league defeats.

The visitors stunned Stenhousemuir early and raced out of the gates as Donald's left-footed effort gave Ayr the lead after 47 seconds.

Chances were at a premium until Moore grabbed his eighth goal of the campaign after the interval as his thumping effort gave Stenhousemuir goalkeeper Colin McCabe no chance.

Preston slotted home from the penalty spot in the 78th minute after Cieran Summers tripped substitute Robby McCrorie in the Stenhousemuir box before the midfielder added a fourth late on.

The result sees Stenhousemuir lose their fifth game in seven games as they stay one point off the relegation play-off spot.
