Augsburg 1 - 0 VfB Stuttgart: Finnbogason winner boosts Augsburg's survival hopes

Alfred Finnbogason was Augsburg's hero once again as his goal earned a 1-0 win over Stuttgart to boost his side's survival hopes and drag the visitors into relegation danger.
The Iceland international, who scored in the win over Werder Bremen a week ago, netted 10 minutes before half-time after defender Georg Niedermeier completely missed a cross from Caiuby.
The win saw Augsburg move above their opponents on goal difference, with both sides just two points above the relegation play-off berth.
Augsburg might have doubled their lead when Finnbogason sent in a cross which Halil Altintop blazed over the crossbar before the first big moment of danger for home goalkeeper Marwin Hitz.
Daniel Didavi's shot hit the right-hand post and Hitz had to react quickly to grab the ball before it could go into the net.
Augsburg then set about trying to find a second goal, with Caiuby and Koo Ja-cheol posing the greatest threat.
Koo set up Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, whose shot was weak and straight at Przemyslaw Tyton in the Stuttgart goal.
Augsburg's failure to add a second led to a tense finish, but ultimately they were able to hold on, despite some nail-biting moments late on, for a precious victory.
