Liverpool fans have been on cloud nine today after last night’s sensational Europa League victory over Borussia Dortmund- and there’s some exciting news greeting them on the transfer front.
Italian website CalcioMercato state Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar is ready to leave the Serie A outfit this summer, with Liverpool expressing interest in bringing the 23-year-old forward to Anfield.
Babacar, who is valued at just £4.7m by his current employers, has dropped down the pecking order in Florence as boss Paulo Sousa prefers to play with a lone striker and Nikola Kalinic is the preferred option.
That’s left Babacar out of the limelight and Liverpool are the favourites to secure the signature of the Senegalese forward, who has scored seven goals in 24 appearances for Fiorentina across all competitions this season.
Babacar is no stranger to links with a top club, as he previously rejected both Real Madrid and Manchester United as a youngster, but it now appears he’s ready for a big move abroad.
With Liverpool’s shaky record with strikers though, which include the latest flop Christian Benteke, fans are understandably concerned with how this deal could pan out.
