Stevenage Borough vs Newport County - Greg Luer available for Newport clash

Stevenage will have striker Greg Luer available for the Sky Bet League Two match against Newport.

The 21-year-old has extended his loan spell from Hull until the end of the season, having impressed in his five appearances so far.

Forward Byron Harrison has recovered from illness, so is pressing for a recall to the starting XI having come off the bench in last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Notts County.

Chris Whelpdale will be assessed having made a first appearance since Boxing Day following a groin problem, while fellow midfielders Steven Schumacher and Dave McAllister (both knee) are long-term absentees.

Newport boss Warren Feeney is set to shuffle the pack after five straight defeats.

Scott Barrow and Danny Holmes could both miss out with hamstring injuries picked up in last weekend's 1-0 home defeat to Cambridge.

Darren Jones has been ill but is expected to play, and fellow central defender Matt Partridge is available again after missing the Cambridge game because of a family bereavement.

Souleymane Coulibaly and John-Christophe Ayina are in contention to start and freshen up an attack which has failed to find the net in four games.
