Fernandinho insists Manchester City fear no-one in Champions League semi-finals
NO FEAR: Fernandinho is ready for City's Euro challenge

Manuel Pellegrini’s men go into the hat alongside Spanish giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid and German champions Bayern Munich.

City are celebrating reaching the semi-finals for the first time in their history following this week’s quarter-final win over Paris St-Germain.

They remain firm underdogs.

But Brazil ace Fernandinho reckons his side have their rivals running scared.

He said: "I’m sure any of the teams we are going to play against will feel this.

"I’m not sure if scared is the right word - but they will respect us because if you play in the semi-finals it shows that we have some qualities.

"The semi-finals of the Champions League is only for the big teams. I think in the semi-finals a lot of things can happen.

"You can win, you can lose, you can draw, but the most important thing for us now is to concentrate because we want to reach the final."

Fernandinho is convinced City are now a force to be reckoned with in Europe and that the whole country should get behind them.

He added: "I think it was one of the targets of the club for the last six or seven years and now this is a key moment for everyone at the club.

"But we want to go further. Against PSG we showed a different level from the last five years when we played in the Champions League.

"Everyone has learned now, especially the manager because I think for me he was one of the best people to learn that, in time, to do the right thing at the right moment.

"We want to play in the final and we will fight to the last minute of the second leg to achieve that.

"I think you guys in England should be more, I don’t know, be more supportive of your clubs because the Champions League is great because it involves the best teams in Europe and it is the highest quality of football and if an English team is in the semi-finals they deserve that.

"I’m sure when Chelsea got to the semi-finals and reached the final they deserved that and now we deserve that. The whole country should support us."
