Alloa Athletic 1 - 0 Hibernian FC: Michael Duffy earns Alloa first home win of season as Hibs' misery continues

Alloa finally claimed their first home win in the Scottish Championship this season courtesy of Michael Duffy's solitary strike in a 1-0 victory against Hibernian.

Duffy, on loan from Celtic, saw his effort on the stroke of half-time awarded after the ball bounced down off the crossbar for only his second goal of the season.

It was enough to secure a first victory in 13 games, dating back to January 12, and pile on the misery for Hibs, who have won just once in seven matches.

The visitors created a number of openings in the first half but Alloa keeper Scott Gallacher saved from James Keatings while Jason Cummings fired wide.

Anthony Stokes shot wide and then headed off target as Hibs searched for the opening goal which came on the stroke of half-time, albeit from Duffy for Alloa.

After the break, Paul Hanlon headed wide, Fraser Fyvie flashed an effort just past a post and David Gray nodded off target as Hibs pressed.

Stokes then had an effort palmed away by Gallacher before Mark Oxley saved well from Duffy but Alloa held on.
