Costa forced to sit out one more game
Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been slapped with an additional one-match ban by the Football Association in relation to his red card in the FA Cup defeat to Everton.

The Spain international is currently serving the final installment of a two-game suspension for his first sending-off in English football - during the 2-0 loss at Goodison Park last month.

Costa was dismissed in the 84th minute for his reaction to a challenge from Gareth Barry, appearing to bite the Toffees midfielder in the neck, although the incident was denied by both players.

The 27-year-old, who vehemently protested the referee's decision instead of leaving the pitch immediately, has been fined £20,000 by the FA and warned as to his future conduct after admitting to a charge relating to his improper behaviour in the quarter-final cup-tie.

Costa will now be forced to sit out the Blues' trip to Swansea next weekend as well, having already missed the 2-2 draw against West Ham and is suspended for Saturday's game at Aston Villa.

"Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Thursday (31 March 2016), Chelsea's Diego Costa has been given a one-match suspension, fined £20,000 and warned as to his future conduct," read a statement from England's governing body.

"The forward admitted a charge of improper conduct in relation to his behaviour after he was shown a second yellow card in The FA Cup Sixth Round tie on 12 March 2016 at Goodison Park.

"This suspension will follow immediately on the conclusion of the player's current ban."
