Man United flop set for escape as Barcelona come calling

Often considered one of (the many) biggest flops in recent memory, Man United defender Marcos Rojo has already admitted to seeking a return to Argentina once his deal with the Red Devils expires. However, he may have an opportunity to get out of Old Trafford sooner than expected thanks to unexpected interest from a European powerhouse.

According to the Metro, Barcelona have expressed interest in the 26-year-old back and are believed to be putting together a £12 million bid for the disgruntled Rojo.

In his first year with the club, Rojo made 25 appearances in all competitions, but this year his minutes plummeted even further due in large part to injuries and poor play. Even when healthy, Rojo has struggled to make his way into the starting XI despite an abundance of injuries to Man United defenders.

Rojo joined Man United in 2014 in a £16 million transfer from Sporting CP, so there will certainly be a net loss in the exchange in the event such a deal goes through.
