Chesterfield vs Port Vale - Dion Donohue remains a doubt for Chesterfield

Dion Donohue has served his three-match ban but is struggling with a hamstring problem so remains doubtful for Chesterfield.

Fellow defender Declan John is getting treatment for his own hamstring injury at parent club Cardiff having played six games since joining on loan in February.

Ian Evatt, Angel Martinez and Daniel Jones are all out for the rest of the season for the Spireites as they battle to stay in Sky Bet League One.

They are two points above the bottom four with seven games remaining.

Port Vale's on-loan Crystal Palace defender Ryan Inniss has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

The injury blow could offer a way back into the side for Ryan McGivern, who has been on the bench for the last two matches.

Manager Rob Page changed his formation to chase the game in Monday's 1-0 defeat to Barnsley but it seems unlikely he will stick with three central defenders which saw midfielder Louis Dodds fill in at wing-back.

Top scorer Ajay Leitch-Smith played the full 90 minutes against the Tykes and suffered no adverse reaction after missing the previous four matches with a hamstring problem.
