Rayo Vallecano 2 - 0 Getafe: Rayo Vallecano hold on to sink Getafe despite Rodriguez Yoel dismissal

Rayo Vallecano survived 75 minutes with 10 men to pull three points clear of the Primera Division relegation zone with a 2-0 win at home to Getafe in an ill-tempered affair at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas.
Javi Guerra scored in the 15th minute but less than 60 seconds later Rodriguez Yoel was sent off for for foul and abusive language. Nine yellow cards were to follow in a feisty encounter.
With the hosts controlling the match despite their numerical disadvantage, Nicolas Fedor Miku doubled the lead in the 71st minute.
Rayo therefore enjoyed a first win in eight league games, moving them three points ahead of Granada and Getafe, the latter remaining in the relegation zone and winless in 11.
Guerra's 10th goal of the Primera Division season came from close range in front of goal. Yoel's red card followed almost immediately after, but Rayo continued to dominate.
Tempers flared in the last five minutes of the first half, with bookings for Getafe trio Antonio Juan Rodriguez, Carlos Vigaray and Pablo Sarabia plus Rayo's Raul Baena. Getafe's Juan Cala saw yellow shortly after the break.
Rayo goalscorer Guerra then went into the referee's book amid a flurry of substitutions from both teams.
Miku made it 2-0, smashing home left-footed from the middle of the penalty area, shortly after which Rayo's Triguero Tito was booked.
Home player Alberto Manucho and visiting Santiago Vergini saw yellow in the closing minutes as Rayo completed victory.
