Oldham Athletic AFC vs Chesterfield - Oldham to check on defender Anthony Gerrard

Posted Sunday, March 27, 2016 by PA

Oldham will check on defender Anthony Gerrard ahead of Monday's game at home to Chesterfield.

Gerrard missed Saturday's draw at Burton through illness but could recover in time for the match at Boundary Park while Cameron Dummigan is definitely out after joining up with the Northern Ireland Under-21s.

Matt Palmer and Timmy Thiele are available for Latics after missing the game against Burton due to the terms of their loan agreements.

Oldham are 21st in the Sky Bet League One table, one point adrift of safety, but have two games in hand over Blackpool just above them.

Chesterfield pair Connor Dimaio and Declan John will be missing again as they are on international duty with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s and Wales Under-21s respectively.

Boss Danny Wilson, who only learned of midfielder Dimaio's call-up last Thursday, turned to Chris Herd and Danny Talbot in their absence and they look set to continue.

Wilson reported no new injury problems following Saturday's goalless home draw against Fleetwood and is expected to choose from an unchanged squad.

Defenders Ian Evatt (Achilles) and Scott Wiseman, who has had surgery to remove a bone growth, remain long-term absentees.
