Posted Sunday, March 27, 2016 by PA
Ayr booked their place in the play-offs after holding on for a 2-1 win at home to promotion rivals Stranraer.
Ayr took the lead in the 17th minute when they broke quickly and Alan Trouten's shot found the net off the inside of a post.
Stranraer started the second half brightly, but the home side doubled their advantage in the 61st minute when Stranraer goalkeeper Cameron Belford failed to clear a backpass and Michael Wardrobe was left with a simple tap-in.
Stranraer pulled a goal back in the 75th minute thanks to Ryan Thomson's header, but Ayr held on for the three points.
