Alloa Athletic vs St. Mirren - Holmes and Ferns boost Alloa in bid for first home victory of the season

Alloa welcome back Graeme Holmes and Eddie Ferns from injury against St Mirren as they chase their first home win of the season.

Former Saint Burton O'Brien is an injury doubt and the Wasps will also be without Mikk Reintam following his release this week.

Manager Jack Ross said: "We showed in our last home game how competitive we are now as a team by almost defeating a Raith Rovers side that are on a great run. It took an injury-time goal for them to equalise.

"If we play to that level again then we can win and finally mark an important milestone in our season."

St Mirren will be without Jason Naismith and David Clarkson due to respective knee injuries as they look for a third win of the season against the Wasps.

Alex Rae side lost to Raith in midweek and the Paisley boss said: "It is good to have a game so quickly as it gives us the chance to move on.

"We competed well with a side going well in the play-off chase and reacted well to going two goals behind, however we cannot afford to be giving our opponents a two-goal start."

"Alloa may be bottom, but they are a very competitive side."
