York City 2 - 2 Crawley Town: York escape with a draw after Michael Coulson strike

Michael Coulson's seventh goal of the season earned York a 2-2 home draw with Crawley in Sky Bet League Two.

The relegation-threatened Minstermen twice came back from behind to claim a point with Luke Summerfield converting a penalty, either side of Matt Harrold and Liam McAlinden strikes for the visitors.

Crawley forged in front after only five minutes when home keeper Scott Flinders was lured out of his goal by Simon Walton's free kick and Harrold lifted the ball into an unguarded net from eight yards.

The hosts drew level, however, when a positive run by Lewis Alessandra was halted unfairly by away defender Jon Ashton.

Summerfield went on to fire the resulting 30th-minute penalty to Callum Preston's right as the Crawley keeper dived the other way.

The visitors nudged ahead again on 48 minutes after Scot Bennett could only help on Andy Bond's long throw from the right with his head and McAlinden squeezed a low far-post shot past Flinders.

However substitute Coulson grabbed a second equaliser in spectacular fashion, curling a 15-yard shot into Preston's top-right corner after being fed down the left by Summerfield to give York a point that sees their winless run to eight matches.
