Koulibaly has been an ever-present at the back for the Italian side this season, helping them to second place in Serie A with Champions League football on he horizon.
Everton and Manchester United are reportedly showing interest, but the Naples-based club are keen to hold onto the Senegal international by offering him an improved deal.
And according to the centre-back's agent Bruno Satin, he's keen to put pen to paper and extend his stay with the Italian club.
"I am still in contact with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli," Satin told Italian Radio station Crc.
"If I understood things, he's thinking about reinforcing the team with several big players.
"A renewal? We're working on it, but it's going to take longer than two days."
