Oxford United vs Stevenage Borough - Oxford missing three players before Stevenage clash

Posted Friday, March 25, 2016 by PA

Oxford trio Callum O'Dowda, Jordan Evans and Jonjoe Kenny will miss the meeting with Stevenage as they are on international duty.

O'Dowda is with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s, Evans with Wales Under-21s and Kenny with England Under-19s.

But the return of Jake Wright and Sam Long from hamstring and hip injuries respectively has eased head coach Michael Appleton's defensive problems and both look set to be in the frame for selection.

"They're available, although they've not played for a long time," Appleton said.

Bradley Pritchard could make his debut for Stevenage after signing on a month-long loan deal from Leyton Orient.

Ryan Hedges and Ben Kennedy are unavailable as they are on international duty with Wales Under-21s and Northern Ireland Under-19s, respectively.

Striker Chris Whelpdale (groin) was on the bench for the loss to Northampton and the top scorer could make a first appearance since Boxing Day.

Ronnie Henry could be back following a thigh injury, but defender Fraser Franks (suspended), striker Aaron O'Connor (calf) and midfielder Charlie Lee (groin) remain out, along with long-term absentees Steven Schumacher and Dave McAllister (both knee).
