York City vs Crawley Town - York wait on Michael Coulson ahead of Crawley clash

Posted Friday, March 25, 2016 by PA

Relegation-threatened York are continuing to assess the fitness of midfielder Michael Coulson ahead of the Sky Bet League Two visit of Crawley.

The 27-year-old, who last week signed a pre-contract agreement with St Johnstone, missed last Saturday's defeat at AFC Wimbledon after further trouble with a groin injury.

Forward Jake Hyde is also hoping to be back in contention after a groin problem.

On-loan Newcastle centre-back Kyle Cameron is on international duty with Scotland Under-19s and misses both this game and the Easter Monday trip to Plymouth.

Callum Preston will be in goal for Crawley on Friday, with new signing Jack Rose not joining up with the squad until Sunday.

Rose, 21, signed for the Reds until the end of the season from Barclays Premier League side West Brom after Portsmouth recalled goalkeeper Paul Jones from his loan spell.

Crawley are on a four-game unbeaten run in Sky Bet League Two and manager Mark Yates has no fresh injury or suspension concerns for the clash.

Joe McNerney (knee) remains on the sidelines as he edges closer to full fitness.
