St. Mirren 1 - 2 Raith Rovers: Raith down St Mirren to end wait for away win

Raith claimed their first away win since December and closed the gap on third-placed Hibernian to seven points with a 2-1 win at St Mirren.

Rovers took the lead following a quick breakaway after 22 minutes. The ball was played to Aidan Connolly and he slid a shot past goalkeeper Jamie Langfield.

The visitors doubled their advantage in the 35th minute when Ross Callachan raced into the box and beat the last defender before stroking in from close range.

But St Mirren were back in it before the break when a Lawrence Shankland throw-in towards the penalty area broke for Alex Cooper to force the ball home.

St Mirren boss Alex Rae was sent to the stand for protesting a decision from referee Barry Cook with 25 minutes remaining, and although the home side pushed for an equaliser, Raith held on.
