JUMPING SHIP: De Gea could look for a move to Spain if United don't finish in the top four
MANCHESTER UNITED are facing another summer of strife over David De Gea with Real Madrid poised to make a renewed attempt to sign Spain's No.1 goalkeeper.
That transfer saga ended in bizarre fashion seven months ago when a £29million deal collapsed over paperwork issues.
De Gea, 25, then signed a new four-year contract at Old Trafford, but Spanish sources have told the Daily Star Sunday that Real still want the United keeper.
If the Reds miss out on Champions League qualification – or Europe altogether – there would be more chance of the keeper leaving.
There is also the question of who will be in charge at Old Trafford next season, with manager Louis van Gaal's position in doubt.
Real's latest coach – France legend Zinedine Zidane – has been quizzed about De Gea.
He said he was happy with the club's keepers, with Costa Rica's Keylor Navas, 29, first choice.
But Zidane added: “I don't even know about my own future, never mind anyone else's.”
