Saint-Etienne 3 - 0 Montpellier: Three late goals earn European hopefuls St Etienne victory over Montpellier

Posted Sunday, March 20, 2016 by PA

Nolan Roux scored his first goal at home this year as St Etienne boosted their chances of European qualification with a 3-0 Ligue 1 win against Montpellier.

The game looked like remaining goalless until Roux headed home from a yard out on 74 minutes after Jean-Christophe Bahebeck's blocked effort fell kindly for him.

And the hosts made sure of the points six minutes later when substitute Oussama Tannane scored with his first touch after coming on, converting Roux's delivery from eight yards out.

And Valentin Eyserric rubbed salt in Montpellier's wounds with a third Les Verts goal to leave Montpellier just three points clear of the drop zone.
