Rochdale pulled off a 3-2 victory at Oldham in Sky Bet League One, despite playing more than half the game with 10 men.

Ian Henderson's red card could not slow the Dale momentum as they boosted their play-off hopes with a fifth win in six matches.

Oldham went ahead after 29 minutes when Curtis Main laid back Jonathan Forte's cross and, from 16 yards out, Aaron Amadi-Holloway side-footed coolly into the bottom corner.

Rochdale levelled with a 37th-minute penalty as Callum Camps was tripped by Oldham defender Tim Dieng, giving Henderson the chance to slam home from the spot.

Henderson was sent off just before half-time when a late tackle on Main earned the Dale captain his second booking.

Yet the visitors took the lead on 49 minutes when Donal McDermott's near-post corner glanced off Anthony Gerrard's head for an own goal.

The 10 men went further ahead six minutes later, with Camps seizing on a poor pass by Dieng and firing a 25-yard drive which crashed in off the underside of the bar.

Oldham pulled it back to 3-2 on 71 minutes as Amadi-Holloway struck again with a superb dipping volley from outside the box.
