Dagenham and Redbridge 0 - 1 Accrington Stanley: Accrington keep up League Two promotion push with victory over lowly Dagenham

Accrington Stanley strengthened their grip on a play-off place as a late goal from Billy Kee earned a 1-0 win over Sky Bet League Two bottom side Dagenham & Redbridge.

Dagenham were on top for much of the first half but had a scare when a header from Sean McConville in the 33rd minute hit the bar and the back of goalkeeper Liam O'Brien.

The hosts' best chance came in the 36th minute when Matty Cash teed up Jamie Cureton, but the striker fired over with the goal at his mercy.

Stanley looked brighter after half-time and should have taken the lead in the 63rd minute when Scott Brown screwed wide from six yards.

The deadlock was broken in the 83rd minute when Kee struck from close range after his first effort was blocked by Dom Hyam.

The result keeps Dagenham nine points adrift of safety, while Stanley remain fifth, one point shy of automatic promotion.
