Queen of South vs Dumbarton - Queen of the South face 'must-win' game against Dumbarton

Posted Friday, March 18, 2016 by PA

Queen of the South will be without Jordan Marshall against Dumbarton due to a hip injury while Lewis Kidd and Jake Pickard are struggling with knocks.

Manager James Fowler is warning his players that only turning good performances into wins will keep their play-off hopes going.

He said: "We have played well against St Mirren and Morton in our last two games but we have had nothing to show for it. One of the reasons is that we are giving away soft goals and that has to stop.

"We are deep into must-win territory and hopefully we will do that against a Dumbarton side who have improved throughout the season."

Dumbarton miss the suspended Mark Docherty and Jonathan Routledge but Grant Gallagher will return after a knee problem.

Manager Stephen Aitken has asked his players to pick up where they left off against Falkirk last weekend

He said: "We ended really strongly against a side pushing for promotion and deserved our late equaliser. If we can get to that high level of performance throughout against Queen of the South then we have the chance of getting a win.

"They have beaten us in the league twice but we beat them after those games in the Scottish Cup. We feel we have improved since then so we can be confident."
