Carlisle vs Wycombe Wanderers - Jabo Ibehre back in Carlisle frame

Striker Jabo Ibehre could return to the Carlisle squad for Saturday's League Two clash with Wycombe after missing last weekend's trip to Exeter.

Manager Keith Curle declined to reveal why Ibehre had sat out the game at St James Park amid speculation he had suffered an injury, but the United boss hopes to have him available this weekend.

Curle also opted to leave out Michael Raynes after 40 consecutive starts in all competitions this season, using him only as a substitute as he teamed up David Atkinson and Mark Ellis at the heart of his defence, and it remains to be seen if he persists with the new pairing.

However, Raynes replaced Atkinson at Exeter after the former suffered a dead leg and his condition is being monitored, while midfielder Antony Sweeney continues to work his way back from a hamstring injury.

Gareth Ainsworth is set to make changes for Wycombe's third game in eight days.

The Chairboys began their busy week with a 1-0 win over Stevenage and then moved into the play-off places courtesy of a 1-1 draw at fellow promotion hopefuls Accrington on Wednesday.

Goalscorer Garry Thompson was forced off by cramp in midweek but should be fit to face Carlisle.

Gozie Ugwu, Marcus Bean and Sam Wood are among those hoping to benefit from a potential reshuffle.
