Peterhead 0 - 0 Stranraer: Peterhead held to goalless draw by Stranraer

Posted Wednesday, March 16, 2016 by PA

Peterhead extended their unbeaten run in Scottish League One to 18 games, but a goalless draw at home to Stranraer did little for their automatic promotion hopes.

A point was enough for Stranraer to move into the play-off places, but Peterhead lie 10 points behind runaway leaders Dumbarton having played a game more.

Andy Stirling almost gave the away side an early lead but his shot was deflected past the post, while Mark McGuigan blazed wide with only home goalkeeper Graeme Smith to beat.

The home side dominated after the break, but Kevin Dzierzawski was denied by visiting keeper Cameron Belford as Stranraer secured the point that took them above Airdrieonians into fourth place.
