Airdrie United 0 - 2 Brechin City: Fourth successive league win boosts Brechin's survival hopes

Brechin continued their bid to avoid relegation from Ladbrokes Scottish League One with a 2-0 away win against Airdrieonians at the Excelsior Stadium in Scottish League One.

Airdrie did all the early running but strikers David Cox and Jim Lister could not direct their efforts inside the area on target inside the opening quarter of an hour.

City took the lead a couple of minutes before the break as Andrew Jackson - on his return from injury - slotted the ball across goalkeeper Neil Parry into the bottom corner from the right side of the box.

The away side doubled their lead in stunning fashion when midfielder Lewis Spence took aim from 30 yards to scoop the ball over Parry after 66 minutes, as the visitors grabbed a fourth successive league win to put them within two points of safety.
