Ayr Utd. vs Dunfermline - Ayr at full strength for Pars showdown

Posted Friday, March 11, 2016 by PA

Ayr United are at full strength for the visit of leaders Dunfermline.

Ian McCall's side are out to reduce the Pars' advantage at the top to eight points.

McCall said: "I have a couple of decisions to make regarding my team selection and that is a good place to be for such a big game. We are scoring goals just now and the quality of goals we are scoring is tremendous. Hopefully we can do that against Dunfermline as well.

"Peterhead and ourselves have done well this season but Dunfermline are worthy league leaders. If we are to have any chance of getting close to them then we need to win this game."

Andy Geggan will return for the East End Park side after injury however manager Allan Johnston is again missing Ryan Williamson and Callum Fordyce due to broken legs with Lewis Martin not yet ready to return after illness.

Johnston said: "Despite being in a great place at the top of the table we were disappointed to draw with Albion Rovers in midweek. Going to Ayr is a great game to bounce back in as there will be a good crowd and both teams will look for the win."

"A win would make it difficult for Ayr to catch us but there is still a long way to go."
