Sheffield United vs Oldham Athletic AFC - Billy hoping to Sharp-en up before Latics clash

Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp is hoping to overcome illness in time for the visit of Oldham.

The Blades' leading scorer Sharp, who has 15 goals this season, missed last Saturday's draw at Fleetwood but could be included in the squad.

Midfielder Florent Cuvelier was withdrawn at half-time last week due to a hamstring problem, but boss Nigel Adkins has not ruled the Belgian out of his plans.

On-loan Middlesbrough defender Alex Baptiste is poised for his full home debut, but midfielder Martyn Woolford (ankle) remains sidelined.

Oldham, unbeaten in seven games, have lost the services of left-back Danny Lafferty following the conclusion of his loan spell.

Lafferty has now returned to Burnley but Latics boss John Sherdian has not ruled out the possibility of bringing in another loan player to fill the gap.

Wigan's Andy Kellett has been linked but in-house options include Brian Wilson, Cameron Dummigan and Joseph Mills.

Striker Dominic Poleon remains on the sidelines with a leg injury but could be back in action in a fortnight.
