Shrewsbury Town vs Scunthorpe United - Matt Tootle in frame for Shrewsbury return

Posted Friday, March 11, 2016 by PA

Matt Tootle is available for Shrewsbury when they host Scunthorpe after being out since October.

The midfielder has been suffering from an Achilles problem but boss Micky Mellon believes he is fit enough to be considered after a return to training.

James Wallace has had an injection to speed up his return with the midfielder having missed five games with a knee injury.

Jermaine Grandison (hip) will be assessed while Zak Whitbread is battling a hamstring problem.

Luke Williams is in line to make his return from injury for Scunthorpe, who are five points outside the play-offs after going four games unbeaten.

The forward has been sidelined by a knee problem since the Southend game on February 13 but Iron manager Nick Daws has confirmed he will be back in the squad if he comes through training on Friday.

Daws will again be without right-back Scott Wiseman, though, after he was ruled out for the "foreseeable future" with a similar issue.

Striker Greg Luer has returned to Hull after a month with Scunthorpe, while defender Andrew Boyce has joined Notts County on loan for the rest of the season.
