Barnsley vs Southend United: Adam Hammill back for Barnsley after suspension

Posted Thursday, March 10, 2016 by PA

Barnsley winger Adam Hammill returns to contention for the home game against Southend following suspension.

Hammill has served a three-game ban following his dismissal in the recent draw at Bury and caretaker boss Paul Heckingbottom must decide whether to include him in his starting line-up.

Leading goalscorer Sam Winnall was back in training on Thursday after missing last week's win at Walsall due to an ankle injury and will be assessed.

Defenders James Bree (hamstring) and Aidy White (ankle) remain sidelined, while on-loan Everton defender Callum Connolly is poised to make his home debut as the Reds bid to make it 12 wins from 14 league matches.

Southend will be without winger David Worrall after he needed 10 stitches in a gashed leg during the 1-0 home defeat to Chesterfield.

Midfielder Myles Weston completed more than an hour against Bournemouth under-21s in midweek on his return from a foot injury, having been out since November 14.

On-loan Norwich striker Jamar Loza staked his claim for a first-team recall with a goal in the 1-1 draw against the Cherries.

John White could continue in defence after his return from a calf injury, but midfielder Ryan Leonard is still sidelined with a knee ligament problem.
