Chelsea clear to sign £62m forward, new contract rejected

Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have had a difficult season to endure but their raising their glasses in celebration, following news of a boost in the hunt for an incredible deal.

AS state Chelsea have received massive news in their pursuit to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, as the latest developments indicate the French international has rejected a new contract in the Spanish capital.

Griezmann has excelled in Spanish football since his days in Real Sociedad and Chelsea have been tracking him for years, whilst their strong relationship with Atletico has given them hope of beating any rivals to the player’s signature.

Atletico themselves do not want to sell and were keen to tie Griezmann down to a new contract, which would raise his release clause from £62m to a whopping £112m.

However, with that offer rejected, Chelsea will know the price they will have to pay to land their man and our landlord believes they’ll even offer Diego Costa in a part-exchange deal, with the Spaniard being linked with a return to the Vicente Calderon.
