Liverpool are considering a £13m double raid on German outfit Cologne.
Jurgen Klopp is interested in snapping up defender Jonas Hector and goalkeeper Timo Horn, according to Bild.
Hector, 25, is available for around £6.2m while 22-year-old Horn has a £7m release clause.
Stoke have entered the race to sign Fenerbahce defender Caner Erkin.
According to Turkish website FotoMac, Liverpool are interested in signing the left-back.
Italian giants Inter Milan are also said to be keen in the Turkey international, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
However, they both now face competition from the Potters.
John Arne Riise reckons Jurgen Klopp must make four key signings this summer.
Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine , Riise said: "Look, I love the club and even now, I watch every game when I can so I don’t like to say anything negative
"But the core needs to be stronger. They need a new goalkeeper, a new centre-back, a new central midfielder and a striker.
"I am sure Klopp already has some ideas on who he wants in, but a big name is needed to make the fans believe again."
