Barca rule out John Stones

Luis Enrique's Barcelona's interest in signing John Stones appears to have waned. According to the English tabloid 'Mirror', the Catalans have ruled out a move for the Everton centre-back because of his "personality and temperament". The club did study the option but had its doubts about how well the 21-year-old would adapt to life in La Liga.

The club also deemed the defender's price tag too steep for its current financial situation. Everton paid Barnsley four million euros for Stones, who signed a five-year deal with 'The Toffees' in January 2013.

Barcelona are trying to secure a centre-back for next season. Strengthening its defence is one of the club's top priorities, due to the problems they are having there this campaign.
