Domenico Berardi is attracting interest from Tottenham and Manchester United
The 21-year-old has been in fine form for the Serie A side this season, netting six times.
Spurs were linked with a move for Berardi in January but a deal never materialised.
Since then, Manchester United have emerged as favourites to sign the youngster with Jose Mourinho keen to make him his first signing.
The Portuguese has been tipped to take the reigns at Old Trafford in the summer and is said to want to bring Berardi with him.
Reports in Italy claim Mourinho has already scouted Berardi on several occasions, but he faces competition from Barcelona and Bayern Munich to secure his signature.
And according to Italian publication Calciomercato, Tottenham are back in the race for his services and could make a move in the summer.
Berardi is contracted with Sassuolo until 2019.
Mauricio Pochettino is planning to spend big in the transfer window and Spurs have also been linked with a summer raid for West Brom’s Saido Berahino and Rennes winger Ousmane Dembele.
Tottenham take on Borussia Dortmund tonight in the first leg of their last-16 Europa League tie.
