Ajaccio GFCO 1 - 1 Marseille: Gazalec Ajaccio secure vital point in home draw with Marseille

Gazelec Ajaccio earned a vital point in their bid for survival in Ligue 1 with a late goal in a 1-1 draw at home to Marseille.

Remy Cabella appeared to have secured victory for the visitors with a fine goal in the 79th minute, but five minutes later Mohamed Larbi scored the equaliser which took Ajaccio, who remain 18th, to within two points of climbing out of the bottom three.

Marseille's Cabella, on loan from Newcastle, demonstrated impressive composure and footwork when, having received possession in the area, he deceived goalkeeper Clement Maury and his defence to create space to finish from close range with his left foot.

Larbi's goal was scrappier. Reaching a free-kick crossed into the area, he poked a scuffed right-footed effort beyond goalkeeper Steve Mandanda, who struggled with the bounce of the ball.
