OUT: Terry won't be available for Chelsea's clash with PSG
Boss Guus Hiddink had hoped his captain would be back for a match that could save their season.
But he said: "I don’t think John will make Wednesday."
Terry has not played since injuring his hamstring last month with his side failing to keep a clean sheet in the five games that followed.
Now Chelsea have cancelled a practice match today that was designed as a fitness test for the defender.
It is a shattering blow to their chances of overturning a 2-1 first leg deficit and now Hiddink’s priority is to get Terry fit for Saturday’s FA Cup trip to Everton.
Hiddink said: "Hopefully, let’s see what can be done for next weekend.
"He can run but cannot go into a longer stretch where you have to accelerate. There he has to be careful."
