Two men were arrested before the north London derby as football fans clashed with police.

The Metropolitan police said the two men were detained for separate public order offences at around 12.30pm at the Park Lane junction of High Road, in Tottenham, near to White Hart Lane.

The arrests came as tens of thousands of fans headed to the ground to see Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in a highly anticipated Premier League match, which finished in a 2-2 draw.

Footage posted on social media appeared to show some Tottenham fans clashing with mounted police and one man was seen with a bloodied face in a photo uploaded to Twitter.

Objects including bottles are seen to be thrown at officers by some fans, while others try to escape the melee.
