Klopp 'not worried' by Benteke form

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists he is 'not worried' by Christian Benteke's lack of impact, saying he is seeing signs of improvement from the Belgian striker.

The 25-year-old has barely featured for the Reds since the turn of the year, with the former Aston Villa frontman being utilised mainly as an impact substitute by Klopp.

Benteke's last goal came in the 1-0 victory over Sunderland on 30 December, and he has provided just two assists since then, with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi ahead of him in the pecking order for a place up front.

"If you saw him in the last game he came on and was completely different to the games he had before," Klopp told Sky Sports.

"The problem is in a club like Liverpool with the strikers we have - [Daniel] Sturridge, Benteke, [Divock] Origi, [Danny] Ings - injured but here - and [Roberto] Firmino - you have not too much time to show what you are able to so you need to use the time you have got.

"Christian was not in the best moment in this situation and Sturridge and Divock came back and now they are little bit ahead but when I saw Christian coming on in the last game he played really good. I am not worried."
