Livingston 2 - 0 Dumbarton: Livingston boost survival hopes with win against fellow strugglers Dumbarton

Posted Sunday, March 06, 2016 by PA

Livingston moved to within one point of Dumbarton in the Scottish Championship after a 2-0 win at Almondvale Stadium.

Liam Buchanan glanced a header wide before he put his side ahead in the 29th minute, capitalising after Dumbarton failed to clear.

Sons striker Calum Waters forced a decent save from Livi keeper Marc McCallum, who then did well to keep out Tom Walsh's effort.

Dumbarton keeper Jamie Ewings thwarted Buchanan just before half-time, with Jordan White wrapping up the points with seven minutes remaining.

It was only Livi's second win in 10 attempts and they are now just one point behind eighth-placed Dumbarton in the battle to avoid the drop.
