Eintracht Frankfurt 1 - 1 FC Ingolstadt 04: Eintracht Frankfurt's relegation worries remain after draw

Posted Sunday, March 06, 2016 by PA

Eintracht Frankfurt missed an opportunity to move out of the bottom three as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by 10-man Ingolstadt.

Moritz Hartmann put the visitors in front in the eighth minute and both he and Stefan Lex wasted chances to make it two before the interval.

Marco Russ brought Frankfurt level midway through the second half when he flicked Marco Fabian's cross inside the far post with his head, just beating Ramazan Ozcan to the ball six yards out.

Pascal Gross was sent off in the 74th minute for a second yellow card, but Frankfurt were unable to take advantage of the extra man, despite their desperate attempts to grab a winner which would have moved them out of the relegation play-off berth.

Instead, they remain inside the bottom three with the pressure still on coach Armin Veh.
