VfB Stuttgart 5 - 1 Hoffenheim: Five-star Stuttgart claim thumping win
Posted Sunday, March 06, 2016 by PA
Stuttgart bounced back emphatically from two straight defeats to thrash local rivals Hoffenheim 5-1 and move 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
Georg Niedermeier put Stuttgart in front in the sixth minute when he slid in to convert from point-blank range after Oliver Baumann only parried Lukas Rupp's shot.
Rupp added the second himself just before half-time, meeting Emiliano Insua's cross.
Niedermeier powerful headed home the third to put the result beyond doubt early in the second half.
Andrej Kramaric pulled one back for Hoffenheim, but Filip Kostic restored Stuttgart's three-goal lead just five minutes later and Timo Werner completed the scoring for Jurgen Kramny's men.
