Hibernian lost further ground in the Ladbrokes Championship title race as they suffered a third straight defeat, going down 1-0 at Queen of the South.
Andy Murdoch got the only goal as the home side strengthened their play-off bid.
Queen of the South goalkeeper Robbie Thomson played his part with a number of saves, denying Jason Cummings, Anthony Stokes and John McGinn in the first half.
Stokes twice tested Thomson in quick succession just after the hour but, with 11 minutes to go, Murdoch found space inside the box and scored with a powerful shot to seal the win for the home side.
