Brechin City vs Forfar Athletic - Spence and Watt doubts for Brechin

Brechin City's hopes of grabbing the win over Forfar that will boost their hopes of avoiding relegation look set to take a hit as both Lewis Spence and new recruit Liam Watt picked up knocks in Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Peterhead.

Andy Jackson is also a doubt with David Weatherson already ruled out with a groin injury, and player-manager Darren Dods said: "If we win this game we would move to within 4 points of Forfar with another game against them to come.

"The only team that can get us out of the situation we find ourselves in is Brechin and hopefully we will start doing that against Forfar."

The Loons have Michael Travis missing with a knee injury and Iain Campbell out with a groin injury, and Michael Dunlop could join them if he fails a fitness test.

Manager Gary Bollan is looking for a third win on the trot to bolster his side's chances of avoiding relegation issues, as he explained: "Wins over Cowdenbeath and Albion Rovers have us moving in the right direction and we want that to continue.

"This game is really important and not because of where the teams find themselves in the table but because there is a derby edge to it as well.

"There is plenty of motivation to win."
